Self-Reflection

307 Meeting Reflections
Every major decision takes a place after having an effective meeting.  So what’s makes the meeting so good. For example, you should stick to the agenda you have prepared for the meeting. Another important point worth mentioning is you should have clear idea about the topic you’re going to talk about. To explain more, don’t mention any information not related to your topic. As for bad meetings, if the members are not paying any attention in the meeting or what have been discussed the result will be negative at the end of the meeting. In other words, it’s just waste of time for everybody.
Last Monday 5th / November /2012 we had our meeting at 3:10 in W014. Our group consists of four members the chair: Farah, minute taker: Khalifa and the participants me and Omar. Our topic was chosen by our teacher which was about student success – increase core skills. We were given five minutes to prepare an agenda and start the meeting. Our agenda consist of two important points. My role was to conduct a survey among the students to know what their interesting about and also I suggested having a training programs to improve their skills. At the end we suggested that we are going to have a plan and recommendation and send it to the ADMC management. The meeting was closed by the chair at 3:30.
Before having our graded meeting, we had a practice meeting which was very help full to us in many ways. First of all we had the chance to pick the topic we want to discuss. Secondly, we had some ideas in how to prepare our agenda. Finally, each of us was assigned to a point in the agenda and knows what he will going to talk about. But after having our graded meeting where the teacher picks the topic we had some difficulty.
All in all, in my opinion I think having a meeting is very important because you can share information with your group members and also you have a chance to listen and take some suggestions to have better solutions for the future. As a manger in the future I will try to make the meetings more interesting and effective in a very short time and will discuss about important topic related to the future of the company.
